No, no – for the love of your holy god – NO!

The octuplets mom (and her spoats team of a family) are getting a reality TV show.

The Southern California woman who gave birth to the world’s longest-surviving set of octuplets has signed a deal to star in areality television series, her lawyer said Sunday.

Nadya Suleman, who gave birth to the six boys and two girls in January and also has six other children, agreed to be filmed for a proposed television show by 3Ball Productions, attorney Jeff Czech said.

Boy, you don’t think this was part of her master plan, do you?

I mean… she:

  • was too busy to date because of here kids
  • was too busy to manage a meaningful income so she needed to live off of her student loans
  • couldn’t give enough time to her kids so had a large number of people help her… but most of them quit

All the while:

  • she had publicist
  • appeared in high profile interviews
  • stated that she intended to PROFIT from her disabled child

So, she was too busy for life (except for gestating a few kids) but she isn’t too busy to have every aspect of her life documented for a TV. Seriously this just pisses me off beyond belief.

The whole “artificially inseminated woman who gave birth to 8 children but already has 6 kids because of artificial insemination” situation continues to get more and more… and more… bizarre.

Take three minutes and four seconds out of your life, three minutes and four seconds that you will never get back – just giving you advanced warning, and watch this interview between Nadya and her mother.

Ok, what things do you notice from this interview? Assuming this is the entire situation, here is what I pick up…

  1. She is a liar OR she knew her actions were wrong and felt the need to hide them from her own family
  2. There is obvious some conflict between her and her mother – at times it comes off as friendly and other times it appears true feelings come out
  3. Nadya had always intended on profiting off of her disabled children (notice the comment about writing a book), and if that is the case, is it that hard to jump to the conclusion that she expected to profit from having more children
  4. She believes a masters in counseling (LPC) will allow her to provide a life for all of her children. I’d like to know how she will provide for 14 children on a profession that only pays $34K to $44K
  5. Faith, and her god, will allow her to manage to care for the children

Is it me or does it appear that Nadya has false beliefs that continue to persist even when provide proof to the contrary – also known as delusional. Apparently, I am not the only one who questions her mental status as her father told Oprah ““Now I’m no psychiatrist, but I question her mental situation.

Ok, so as if the situation wasn’t suspect enough, have you seen the latest? Vivid Entertainment offered Nadya $1M to star in a hardcore porn video.

The Southern California mother of octuplets has been offered $1 million to star in hardcore porn. Vivid Entertainment spokeswoman Jackie Martin said the offer also promises a year of health insurance for Nadya Suleman and her 14 children….Vivid said the offer was sent Tuesday via overnight mail and there has been no immediate response.

All joking aside for a moment, this is where I call bullshit! on the entire situation.

I think all of this was planned out. Frankly, I think the only true bit of information that came from the interview was that she intended to profit off of her children, and it seems like the media are more than happy to help her do so.

Think about this…

  • She has a publicist
  • She admitted the intent profit from her disabled child
  • She and her mother have appeared in a number of high profile interviews, mainly after it came out she already had 6 children
  • Her father is on Oprah
  • Dr. Phil will be interviewing the family shortly
  • Offers, regardless of their origin, are starting to come in

Aside from the “fame” or attention, why would Nadya or her family, want to be involved in such a situation? Maybe the driver is the fact that Nadya has no money and the Suleman family has already declared bankruptcy?

And last week, some eager reporter discovered that Nadya’s mother, Angela Suleman, is 10 months behind in mortgage payments on a home she purchased in 2006 for $450,000. Her mother has also filed for bankruptcy, listing $1 million in debts.

Financial hardship can happen to anyone, bankruptcy shouldn’t lead to an individual becoming a pariah, but events surrounding the entire Suleman situation looks mighty suspect to me. If you can’t sell organs for profit, nor can you sell children into adoption, why would it be legal to plan to have an obscene number of children for a profit? If this whole situation does turn out to be a scam by the entire family, I would be the first to push for an investigation into whether any laws were broken.

It’s Monday, another start to another wonderful week.  After the drain of last Thursday and Friday the weekend was a nice way to relax, but I am starting to slowly feel the stress buildup once again.  I’m not sure why, nothing is going on at this very moment…

There were a few things I wanted to touch on…

First, I had the opportunity to watch “Definitely, Maybe” this weekend, starring Ryan Reynolds.  After such cinematic feats like “Van Wilder” and “Waiting…” I wasn’t sure what to expect from this movie.  Mind you, I like Van Wilder for the stupid, pointless humor that it is… but I wasn’t sure Reynolds had any dramatic acting ability.  Who knew, he does!

Definitely, Maybe is a sweet movie about finding out who you are and what love means to you.   Reynolds plays a father, going through a divorce, who is telling his daughter the story of meeting her mother – and all the other loves along the way.

It’s a really sweet movie.

Is Nadya Suleman the definition of irony?

Take a read of this quote Nadya Suleman, the Octuplets mom, recently said during an interview:

“Boyfriends? I think I’d have to be extremely selfish. I cannot maintain a social life and be a mother. “

Nadya was married previously, but it didn’t work out…

“it didn’t work out – I couldn’t get pregnant. I was in the marriage for the wrong reasons. I thought I loved him but I was more in love with wanting children”.

It didn’t work about because she couldn’t get pregnant… hmm…

So, It would be extremely selfish to have a boyfriend yet she wanted “huge” family (her words), and she ended the last marriage because he couldn’t knock her up.  Isn’t that a selfish desire in and of it’s own right?

She wanted to be a mother for the sake of being a mother, not because she wanted to continue on the human race, or to fulfill some religious belief, she SIMPLY wanted kids.

How is that not selfish?

Oh, also Suleman claims she hasn’t had sex in over 8 years.  This story just gets more and more bizarre as time goes on…

Speaking of bizarre…

Here is the best photo caption you will read in a long, long time.

Kinda makes you redefine what “happier times” really are, doesn’t it?

I want to know who is telling the truth here.

Yesterday President Obama  the White House made the comment that Caterpillar would rehire a number of the recently laid off workers if the stimulus package was passed by Congress.  Today, James Owens, CEO of Caterpillar said:

I think, realistically, no. The honest reality is we’re probably going to have more layoffs before we start hiring again…As these projects kick in, one concern I have that we need to be mindful of, is that even if this stimulus package passes, not only here but around the world, it still takes a little time to bid the contracts and get the dirt work started”

Did the President spin what Owens said?  Did Owens backtrack on his own words?  Was it simply misinterpretation by parties?

Regardless of who said what, any bickering between the two parties has the potential to hurt everyone involved.

Update: 02/12/09 – 10:58PM – Here is a video of President Obama, then James Owens.

Nadya Suleman

As previously mentioned, I have an issue with Nadya Suleman…not because of the number of children she decided to have, but the fact that she had no means of supporting herself, her family,  yet she decided to be artificially inseminated and is now depending on social services to pay for her children.

Actually, I don’t have much more to say except she was HUGE while expecting (image from TMZ.com)

UPDATE 2/19 – I cannot wait until this picture above gets off the front page!

1st Class v. Coach

This is why you should fly 1st class, especially in the event of a water landing.

As if you didn’t see this coming, Nadya Suleman, the recent mother of octuplets, is looking to god for help.  Turns out that she is already having financial issues raising the six children she already had… yes, the six children she already had BEFORE the octuplets came along…  and it turns out that she is already on food stamps

The California mother of newborn octuplets said on Monday she was counting on God to help provide for her family but acknowledged that she already was “struggling” financially to raise her first six children.

“I will feed them. I will do the best I possibly can,” Suleman said of her newly expanded family. “And in my own way, in my own faith, I do believe wholeheartedly that God will provide in his own way.”

Suleman said she also was hoping for help from “volunteers, friends and family,” adding that her mother, Angela, deserves much of the credit. “I was struggling, but it was OK … thanks to my mother,” she said.

So God will provide in his own way, huh?

The question that no one seems to be asking is this: how can a struggling mother of 6 afford to have embryo implantation at a Beverly Hills fertility clinic?

Fertility coverage is an option on some health insurance policies, but it seems odd that a policy would provide infertility coverage to a mother of 6, doesn’t it?  If insurance was not the method of funding for the procedure, how did a struggling mother pay for the treatment on her own?

Listen, I don’t care what someone does with their body – pump yourself full of drugs, starve yourself until moonlight can be seen through your stomach, eat until you cannot walk – but you are responsible for your actions.  I have issues when a person makes decisions about their life, and decisions that impact others, and simply expect the universe to work things out… or that they will survive on the kindness of others.

God didn’t provide these children to Nadya, Dr. Michael Kamrava of the West Coast IVF Clinic in Beverly Hills did.  So unless god is Dr. Kamrava waiting to help out Nadya out I wouldn’t bank on any other help for a supreme being.
