Random complaint – If you can’t drive and talk on your cell how do you expect walk and talk.  Really, pay attention to what you are doing.

Tim Geitner speaks, says nothing

Did you listen to what Tim Geitner said this morning regarding next step of the bailout?  If you did, you’ll notice that he said nothing at all – nothing the general public didn’t know before the press conference.

The whole conference can be summed up in this one line: We are not going to put out details, until we get it right

Investors were expecting direction from the government; they were expecting a plan, but got nothing.  As a result, the market is down over 350 points. While the current administration is significantly better at speaking with “one voice”, that is to say providing a consistent message from all offices, they are still guilty of speaking without having a point.

If you don’t know what action you are going to take, don’t hold a press conference.  Uncertainty creates fear, and fear continues to drive the market….

Steroids

Alex Rodriguez used steroids.  Ok, so?

If he used a banned substance the MLB association should address the issue. Have all societal concerns of been addressed to the point where Congress needs to get involved?

I mean, really?

Chris Brown?

Who is Chris Brown and why should I give a crap if he is beating the hell out of some pop-tart?

Abuse of any type is unacceptable, by either sex, but this should not be a major concern of the press.  Why aren’t we talking about other things… like the situation in Sri Lanka.

I guess this situation, to me, is like the steroid coverage but on a larger scale.  It’s almost as if our priorities are totally misaligned.

Ok, enough bitching for now.

Doc Ellis, the 12 year MLB veteran died of a liver issue on Friday at the age of 63. If you were never a hardcore fan of baseball, chances are you have no clue who he was.  Not a superstar pitcher, like that of Nolan Ryan or Tom Seaver, Ellis was a solid player.  His record was 138 and 119 when he ended his career.

The big accomplishment he is remember for is throwing a no hitter…. while on LSD…..

Having never done LSD I have no clue what a person would experience, but I do know it’s hard enough to throw a strike in baseball let alone even think about pitching while under the influence of a hallucinogenic. It’s not exactly a drug I would expect to be performance enhancing, I wonder if they test for that these days…

Makes one wonder what other athletes where under the influence of some illicit substance while making history.

I mean, really… The Chicago Cubs had the best record the National League and their “magical” season ended in three suck-ass games with the final being a 3-1 loss in L.A.

This is quite sad….
