I have to be frank, I cannot stand black Friday.
Something about going out at the ass crack of dawn, standing in line with a bunch of people in the hopes to – MAYBE – get a good deal just does not appeal to me. Sure, I’m antisocial, but the whole idea seems more trouble than it is worth especially since there is this thing called “the internet” where you can find deals on just about anything, at any moment, and you don’t have to fight the herd to buy it.
That said, there are a few deals out there that would really be interesting (if I actually wanted to leave the house).
First up, Old Navy has their entire selection of jeans for $15 and their outerwear is 50% off. Having just picked up a jacket from Old Navy, the 50% sale is very nice.
The folks at Best Buy are doing their annual “get a computer for cheap, oh, yea, there are only like 5 per location so good luck at getting one” bit again. The 46″ Samsung LCD for $999 is a sweet deal… While I don’t have the need for one the cost alone makes me want to buy it.
One of my favorite clothing stores, JoS A. Bank, has all of their Wool and Cashmere suits priced at $129. Seeing they usually cost $550 per suit anyone buying is getting one hell of deal for top quality suits. This almost beats their buy one get one free sale they’ve been having these past few months.
And finally something for the ladies… New York & Company has 50% off EVERYTHING in the store.
So, if you are like me, I hope you enjoy the day away from the crowds of people and do your shopping online on Monday. Otherwise, if you have the desire to spend money, I hope you take advantage of some of the deals out there. It can be very tempting….
