You all know PETA, right? For those of you who don’t know PETA stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, an activist group that, ironically, killed more than 10,000 animals from 1998 to 2003 under the “Better off dead than fed” mantra. Well, it seems they have an issue with President Obama killing a fly… You read that right.

Check this insanity out:

PETA has a few words for President Obama: Brush, don’t kill.

After the President very publically swatted and then killed a fly during an interview with CNBC yesterday, the outspoken animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) said they wished Obama had served a better example.

“We support compassion for the even the smallest animals,” says Bruce Friedrich, VP for Policy at PETA. “We support giving insects the benefit of the doubt.”

Friedrich says PETA supports “brushing flies away rather than killing them” and was disappointed that the President had gone ahead and squashed the pesky fly.

Its comments like this, along with suggesting the Pet Shop Boys change their name to Rescue Shelter Boys or telling kids to run away from their fathers in order to scare them into becoming vegetarians, that cause more and more people to not take PETA seriously.

I for one am glad the president set such an exmaple. I invite anyone to participate in fly genocide.

Human kind has locked horns in a war against insects that has raged for centuries.

Forget Afghanistan and Iraq, this is one war we can’t afford to lose.
