You need to check out these picture from Iran.

Boston.com has a number of impresssive pictures, but this set of pictures from twitpic is VERY impressive.

Just to point out the “outside world” does not know exactly what is taking place in Iran, but it is very clear something is taking place.

6/22/ 09 Update:  Here is another set of pictures from Boston.com title A Troubled Week In Iran.  Some great stuff here.

I only looked at the first set from the boston globe…man…who needs video with still shots that vivid…incredibly upsetting and real…I felt gutted by the end of that display.

The pictures are very vivid. Just seeing images like this goes to remind me how photography is such a powerful tool and art form.

I wonder if they people of Iran will overtake the government, if it will become more violent, or will it simply run a course with no major outcome.

who knows? the world is such an incredibly messed up place…Iran is not alone in that…

human beings in one way or another will be the end of human beings most likely.

I’m not a horrible pessimist either…believe it or not.

No, Iran is not alone in that. It’s funny, I always thought it would be some really – really – basic thing that would be the end of us all… like some mutated tree bark that releases spores as a defense…

Or maybe I just watch too much sci-fi

you don’t think we’ll do it to ourselves, really??

man I wish I felt that way…

I used to think we would be our ultimate downfall. Now, however, life has shown me to expect the unexpected… that it’s never what you would think…

Just for that reason alone I’m going with the view it will be something else.

life has shown me to expect the unexpected… that it’s never what you would think…

I agree with the spirit of that statement absolutely…however I don’t rule out what seems like an obvious causation while remaining open to something else happening…

including our turning our sorry asses around and saving ourselves.

Very good point. Sometimes the obvious is… well… the obvious. =)
