Who thought it would be a good idea for the Air Force to have a 747 and two F-16s buzz New York city? Now, I can say to myself that I am a bit of an emotional cripple. I understand that I don’t always look at things from an emotional standpoint – usually more so when I’m tired – but this decision was pure dumbass in motion.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Wednesday a photo-op featuring the presidential jet flying over the Manhattan skyline was as “stupid a thing to do as one could dream up.”
Here, here! For once I agree with something that has come out of this man’s mouth.
White House Military Office Director Louis Caldera accepted responsibility and apologized late Monday for permitting the exercise that infuriated New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who had not been alerted to the flyover.
Apologized?
He Apologized!?!
You apologize when you are rude to someone in the office, you apologize when you break something that isn’t yours, you apologize for neglecting a duty. When you scare the ever living sh*t out of an entire city, one that is already emotionally scarred due events that closely resembled this right before planes flew into your city, you don’t apologize. You resign.
Again, YOU RESIGN.
This is, in my view, akin to a CEO missing quarterly numbers by a billion dollars or a Director of Race relations making racist comments. They’ve shown gross neglect in their duty and end up on street with the public “saying don’t dent my door as it hits your ass on the way out.”
Hell, a Fox News Reporter was fired recently for reviewing a pirated copy of a new movie… and he does not even come close to the level of responsibility MOD Louis Caldera does. I don’t believe Caldera’s actions were intended to be harmful, I think it was just poor decision making. Yes that gets you fired, too.
The level of stupidity, or the lack of common sense, in this world is shocking to me.
Just a quick note, there may be possible site downtime over the next 12 to 24 hours as a few server changes take place. I hope the impact is minor, if not unnoticeable.

I’m not sure if Alex and Youth decided to get to get together to some song in the way of their classic “Little Fluffy Cloud” or it there making a statement they’ve grown past that time point. If one listens to the samples, some comments appear to directly contradict others.
The apple tree in my back yard plays samples in the same method of LFC did. You hear yellow, creams and reds…. again someone breaks in with “things have changed very much, so no it wouldn’t happen.”
Obviously, this can be interpreted as an anti drug video. That doesn’t sound much like The Orb. Reading the subtext found in the video it may be as if the Orb was of saying we will never be that band again, but we will be growing.
And, this allowed the group to preform on the now defunct “Top of the pops”. How did they celebrate the honor? By not performing, of course. Would you expect anything less?
For the time the music would play, they group members were play chess as all these visuals would go on around them. I found it to be quite funny and classy at the same time. The second video is form Asylum.
I would love to know what the TotP viewers though when they saw this as the performance…. bu if you missed that, you can also check the Live performance they did for MTV:
I ran into a friend of mine today (yo, Rick) and we were talking about the latest DJ mix session. There are a number of new ones out there, so I thought it was time to post for all to enjoy.
Ok, yesterday I saw this article and thought to myself. Really?
As the swine flu outbreak continues spreading, an Israeli health official is making waves by saying the name should be changed to “Mexican” flu, because the reference to pigs is offensive to Jews and Muslims, who consider pigs unclean and forbid the eating of pork products.
For me, the dumbassity (yes, it’s now a word – deal with it) is in the following words:
“the reference to pigs is offensive to Jews and Muslims”
This is especially the case when one take a brief moment to say “Oh, yea… because calling it Mexican flu isn’t offensive to anyone”.
I mean, really people.
Jews and Muslims do not even eat pork, so what the hell is the issue? By this logic, saying pork, pig, or hogs should be equally offensive because Jews and Muslims cannot eat said products anyway. I’ve always had this issue with society trying to be overly politically correct.
In my opinion, this is one of those cases.
Well, I thought the dumbassity was only limited Israel at this point. Yea, sorry to say that is not the case. U.S. pork producers want the swine of out the name as well. Why do you think? Simply because their business is starting to take a hit.
“At a news briefing, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack took pains to repeatedly refer to the flu as the “H1N1 virus.”
Here is an idea, let’s call it Pork Flu. No, Ham flu. Oh, wait, what about double bacon cheese burger flu. The reason the “swine” flu will stick is because people, well a number of people, have no ability to connect to H1N1. Anyway, people need just relax a bit.
The majority of my gear tends to be vintage – old, collector items – that are far from being in production these days. Well, one piece of gear I have is the Oberheim Matrix 1000. A sweet analog sound module produced from 1987 until 1994.
Well, today I turned on my module only to find out that that the Matrix 1000 I have in the studio is not working. The module powers up, receives midi signals, but does not produce sound. I’ve unseated and reseated every cord and cable from the unit, think that may be part of the problem, but no such luck.
I’ve turned to the manual in hopes of finding a solution but I’ve had no luck thus far. I will most likely turn to a number of forums to find a solution (if there is one, short of sending this to a tech) but… I’ve found that manual has a lot of information that could be usable for general, everyday, users.
Thanks to the original scanner/poster – whoever you may be.
Update for anyone interested: It looks like my unit is dead. I’ve reset factory originals, I’ve unplugged and reconnected all connections. Maybe a fuse gone bad, maybe a bad chip. I’m just sad to see it go. Looks like I have to go to the old storage room (aka my parents basement) and break out a few other classic? The Juno 106? The Korg Prophecy.
Sure, they are not rack mounts… but… can’t do wrong with them.

For a few weeks now I’ve had the joy of getting “blank” text messages either dated from the future (2012) or the distant past (1969). For the life of me, I could not figure out what was going on. There was not rhyme or reason as to what was happening.
Well, I got one today… and I noticed that it came right after a voice mail came. Intrigued, I again did a bit of research using my personal assistant (Google) and found out a few things.
1)It appears this problem is specifically tied to T-Mobile, not other carrier
2)It only appears to happen on the iPhone – a non T-Mobile supported phone
According to this thread at hackint0sh.org, the problem was due to system improvements made by T-Mobile. Apparently, when attempting to address their Internet connectivity speed, they system engineers changed parameters that disrupted system voice mail notification settings.
I know, it is sad. No one is attempting to contact you from a different time period. For a second I was quite excited to see they quantum barrier to time travel was finally solved. Apparently, that is not that case.
