Try using this css if you want the check box for the comments subscription to show better:

Wow! Interesting theme – I was kinda shocked by how different it looked from your old theme. It’s nice and simple. Maybe it’s the new theme I uploaded a few weeks ago that blocks my comments. I guess I need to consider changing my theme too. Ugh! Alas, between work and school, there just isn’t enought TIME in the day!

Anyway, I like this look – very clean. And the little comment cloud is cute too!

i need a theme that will allow anyone to subscribe to comments. after 3 years ‘blogging’ i should have this figured out and I don’t. sigh.
