Yesterday evening I made a few upgrades to the website that, I hope, will result in a better user experience.  While small and transparent to the reader, I wanted to let you know of the changes if you do see performance issues.

First, I added Wordpress Super Cache plugin in hopes of cutting down the load time on posts.  WP Super Cache generates html files that are served to the reader without executing the PHP scripts, thereby reducing CPU cycle and memory time.  The result should be a fast loading blog.

Second, I made a significant change to the mobile version of the website.  Using the WP Touch plugin, I’ve provided a much cleaner user interface for mobile visitors than the previous experience.  Gone are the days where a visitor would be served minimal text.  Now there is a formatted, but graphic sensitive, content delivery system in place.

Finally, I made the transition to Wordpress 2.7.1 in order to address a few bugs and performance issues identified in the last release.

While I do not expect any issues, if you do happen to experience performance problems please send me an email.
