Wordpress 2.7 has officially been in the wild for about 5 days now, and I have to say I LOVE IT.
If you are wondering, “hey, should I upgrade”, here are some of the features now available:
- Whole new, AJAX based user interface – very sweet
- Quickpress
- Comment Threading (and replying to comments right from your dashboard)
- Sticky Posts
- Built-in Upgrade Feature
Frankly, it’s about time the Wordpress development team included a built-in upgrade feature. Say to say, however, this new addition will eliminate the need for the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade Plugin I had previously written about.
Yes, there are a few back end items the upgrade takes care of, mainly security, but this is a whole new blogging platform. When you have time, you really should install this release. You will not regret doing so.
