There are people, for some reason, that always have good luck. These are the people that no matter what have things that seem to go their way – even when the situation seems to be at the darkest. You know, the individual is let go from one company but finds a new, higher paying job, the very next day or happen to be in a car accident where everyone is injured but them. There are the people that seem to have “it”, whatever “it” is. These are the people, it seems, that always land on their feet – things always work out for the best. Is this the case, do some individuals have good luck, or is it the perception of the observer?
Obviously no one has a perfect life or always obtain what he or she wants. It’s impossible, not improbable, impossible. Maybe the person who seems to “have all the luck” simply has a positive outlook on life which influences the observer to believe there is something special with this person. If that was the case; however, how come these individuals actually find themselves gaining things outside of their control?
Unless our lucky person was networking and looking for a job, statistically it would seem unlikely that they would be able to obtain a new job the very next day, unless they have a highly specialized skill. There is no way one can control the events of a car accident – who will be hurt of not – but to experience a number of such events and to never be harmed seems unlikely.
Let’s say it is not the observer but, for some unknown reason, some individuals do have “all the luck” and situations always seem to be favorable to them, can the good luck simply stop? That is to say, can a lifetime of luck turn negative? Can situations turn against their favor for no reason whatsoever?
If the luck is gone what becomes of the person, more specifically the personality? Does someone who was consistently positive change to have a negative outlook on life? If the luck, which they may have taken for granted, is now gone does this mean the individual now needs to figure out who they are again? Is this what causes a mid-life crisis?
I’m not sure that people will always land on their feet, no matter how their life has played out previously. Past performance does not guarantee future success….
